About Hitoshi Ashinano

Hitoshi Ashinano (芦奈野ひとし) is a manga artist. He is most noted for Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō (also known as Cafe Alpha), for which he won Afternoon magazine's Four Seasons Award for debut works and the prestigious Seiun Award for science fiction.

Though it has been translated to English only in unauthorized online scanlations, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō has received significant attention from reviewers outside of Japan. Dirk Deppey of the Comics Journal says, "Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou isn't just one of my favorite manga stories; it's one of my favorite comics, period."
